The Fingers Game

This game is based on the original French “Frere Jacques”. Being extremely popular, this song becomes an enjoyable way to teach and to learn English in Kindergartens and primary schools.
The teacher intends to introduce the name of the five fingers, so that he imagines a story about some work to be done. Help is needed, so the fingers are called in turn, until the five of them complete the work.
The game-song becomes with the most “serious” finger: Mr. Thumb

“Mr. Thumb, Mr. Thumb,
Where are you, where are you?
Here I am, good morning!
Here I am, good morning!
What’s to do?”

The game goes on calling the following fingers: Mr. Forefinger, Mr. Middlefinger, Mr. Ringfinger and Mr. Littlefinger.

A funny way for playing the game is to paint small faces on each fingertip.
