Caraway English description by Irina and Nina Koptyug
School 130, Novosibirsk, Russia

All the kids form a circle linking hands, they have to keep them linked all the time. One kid stands in the middle, moving in the opposite way to everybody. Children move and sing, doing what they sing.

Caraway, caraway,
You can go any way (left, right),
You can go to your left,
You can go to your right,
You can be very tall (raise their arms and move on tiptoes),
You can be very small (they squat and try to rush to the center, still linking hands).

The one in the middle at this point tries to unlink someone. If he does, another kid takes his place and the first one stands in the circle.
It's a very noisy game. You can sing fast or slow.
