The Goat's Judgment
 
A hunter surrounded a lion with a circle of flames.
The lion asked for help and an elephant came with its trunk full of water.
The elephant put out the fire and took the lion on its back. The lion felt very well up there and he didn't want to get down any more. The elephant asked all the animals to help him to be free again but nobody helped him.
A goat had enough courage to tell the lion to get down the elephant's back.
The king of the animals got down on goat's back. Poor goat could only say: "I prefer to die instead of concealing an injustice."

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.

Judecata tapului
Un leu fusese amenintat de un vânãtor care îl înconjurase într-un cerc de flãcãri. Leul strigã dupã ajutor si elefantul sosise în ajutorul sãu cu trompa plinã de apã.
El stinse focul si îl luã pe leu pe spinarea sa. Pentru cã se simtea bine acolo, leul nu mai vru sã coboare.
Elefantul rugã pe toate animalele sã-l ajute sã-si recapete libertatea, dar toate îl refusaserã.
Numai tapul prinse curaj sã-i spunã leului sã coboare de pe spinarea elefantului. Regele animalelor coborî exact pe spinarea bietului tap care mai apucã sã spunã:
"Prefer sã mor decât sã tãinuiesc o nedreptate!"
Cursa n-o câstigã totdeauna cel mai iute de picior, nici lupta, cel mai puternic!
