The Cocks and the Eagle
 
Two cocks fought one day.
The winner wanted to inform the whole village about his deed.
It climbed on the roof of the house, flapped its wings and shouted: "Look at me, I am the bravest cock!" It couldn't even finish its shout that the claws of an eagle grabbed it.
Leave the other to praise you! or
The praise for self doesn't smell well!

 Cocosii si vulturul

Doi cocosi s-au bãtut într-o zi. Învingãtorul vru sã dea de veste întregului sat despre isprava sa. Se sui pe acoperisul casei, bãtu din aripi si cântã: "Priviti-mã, sunt cel mai viteaz cocos!" Nu apucã bine sã-si încheie strigarea cã si fu însfãcat de ghearele
unui vultur.
Lauda de sine nu miroasea bine! sau Lasã pe alti sã te laude!
