Acest joc are ca obiect propulsarea unei bile, cu ajutorul degetului mare al mâinii, în încercarea de a scoate afarã dintr-un cerc alte bile. Bila boate fi de piatrã, sticlã, argilã sau mai nou, de otel. Bile de acest tip s-au descoperit în mormintele egiptene si cu ocazia sãpãturilor arheologice pentru cercetarea asezãrilor omenesti din Grecia anticã si Imperiul Roman. Poetul Ovidiu vorbeste despre acest joc în poemele sale, iar Pieter Bruegel a zugrãvit scene specifice jocului cu bile în capodopera sa "Jocurile copiilor". Jucãtorii fac un cerc cu ajutorul unei crete pe terenul de joc.
Apoi ei pun 10-12 bile în interiorul acestuia. Scopul jocului este
de a scoate cât mai multe bile în afara cercului.
Marbles Marbles is a game in which a marble is propelled by the thumb at other marbles, usually in attempt to drive them out of marked circle. A marble is a little ball of stone, glass, clay or steel, used in this game. Marbles have been found in Egyptian tombs and in Greek and Roman excavations. The Roman poet Ovidius mentions marbles in his poems. Pieter Bruegel also depicts children playing marbles in "Children's Games". The players make a circle by the help of piece of chalk on the playground. Then they place 10-12 marbles inside the circle. The object of the game is to get all of the marbles out of the circle. The target marble is propelled by the player's thumb at the other marbles. The first player, who must stay at about 1-2 meters far of the circle, attempt to do it. If he succeeds, he shoots again, if not, the next player will continue. The winner is the one who succeeds to gather more marbles. Versió al Català Les botxes, o bales, és un joc en el qual una botxa és impulsada amb el dit gros cap a altres botxes, normalment intentant fer-les sortir d'un cercle marcat. Una botxa és una boleta de pedra, vidre, argila o acer, que es fa servir en aquest joc. S'han trobat botxes en tombes egípcies i en excavacions gregues i romanes. El poeta Ovidi parla de les botxes en els seus poemes. Pieter Bruegel també descriu infants jugant a botxes en "Jocs d'Infants". El jugadors dibuixen un cercle de guix a terra. Una canica es una bolita de piedra, vidrio, arcilla o acer que se utiliza en este juego. Se han encontrado canicas en tumbas egipcias y en excavaciones griegas y romanas. El poeta Ovidio habla de las canicas en sus poemas. Pieter Bruegel también describe a niños jugando a las canicas en "Juegos de Niños". Los jugadores dibujan un círculo de tiza en el suelo. Entonces
colocan de 10 a 12 canicas en él. El objetivo del juego consiste
en hacerlas salir del círculo. La canica será impulsada por
el dedo pulgar en dirección a las otras canicas. El primer jugador,
que debe estar a unos 1-2 metros de distancia del círculo, lo intenta.
Si lo consigue, vuelve a tirar, si no, continuará el siguiente jugador.
Gana aquel que consigue sacar más canicas.
